Coordinator of demonstrations in support of Ukraine

About the volunteer position

We at Nordic Ukraine Forum have been organising weekly demonstrations in Stockholm since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine. It has become an important plattform and meeting point for those supporting Ukrainian cause in Stockholm, and we intend to continue organising the demonstrations. We're now looking for volunteers who are interested in helping us in coordinate this work stream.

Assignment

Depends on your strengths and interests. Organizing a demonstration implies the following, and you can choose yourself which tasks you prefer to carry out:

• • Seeking permit from the police
  • Looking for the speakers at the demonstration
  • Organizing creative actions and performances during the demonstrations
  • Preparing and publishing information about the demonstration on social media (before and after the protest), and spreading the word.
  • Bringing the equipment to the demonstration, and returning it back to the storage afterwards
  • On-sight coordination and management during the demonstration (security, spreading flyers and protest signs, selling merchandize during the demonstrations)
  • Participation in the globally coordinated actions of the international communities.
  • Contacts with local and Ukrainian journalists
  • Writing press-releases before and/or after the protest
  • Making sure there are photos and videos taken during the protests
  • Leading the protest (conferencier)

About you:

• Available for 3-10 hours per week
  

• Languages: Ukrainian and/or English (Swedish is a big plus, but optional)

• You are a responsible, punctual and communicative person

• You have creative ideas about actions or performances during the protests (optional) 
  

Important: this is a volunteer position with no monetary remuneration.
