New opportunities for collaboration for Ukrainian civil society
In 2023, the Nordic Ukraine Forum hosted the first Nordic Ukraine Advocacy Summit in Stockholm, Sweden. This initiative was an important milestone, bringing together Ukrainian advocacy organizations from across the Nordic countries and Ukraine. The Summit aimed at fostering a collaborative environment where participants could connect, share insights, and strategize on advocating for Ukraine's interests in the region. The next Nordic Ukraine Advocacy Summit was organized in 2024 in Helsinki, Finland.
This initiative is an annual event to hosted in different Nordic countries.
Uniting for a Common Cause
The primary objective of the Summit is to create a platform for civil society actors in the Nordic and Baltic countries who are dedicated to advocating for Ukraine. By coming together, these individuals and organizations get an opportunity to introduce themselves, outline their plans for the future, and explore possibilities for cooperation. The event aims at establishing and strengthening connections, as well as facilitating a unified approach to supporting Ukraine.
Sharing Knowledge and Best Practices
A key component of the Summit is the exchange of knowledge and experiences. Participants can delve into the work being done by Ukrainian advocacy organizations in other countries, providing valuable insights into their strategies and achievements. These discussions give an opportunity to share best practices, effective methods for advocacy, challenges and solutions, enabling attendees to learn from each other.
Brainstorming and Collaboration
The Summit is not only about reflecting on past achievements but also about looking forward to future possibilities. Participants engage in brainstorming sessions to generate ideas for future cooperation that could enhance the impact of Ukrainian advocacy efforts in the Nordic and Baltic regions. By pooling their resources and expertise, attendees can develop a cohesive strategy that would amplify their voices and influence.
A Means For Stronger Advocacy
The first Nordic Ukraine Advocacy Summit aims to contribute to stronger, more coordinated advocacy for Ukraine within the Nordic and Baltic countries. By bringing together dedicated actors from both the Nordics, the Baltics and Ukraine, the event lays groundwork for a more unified and effective approach to supporting Ukraine's interests.
