There is still a great demand for knowledge about Ukraine. In 2023 Nordic Ukraine Forum, in cooperation with several partners, organised an annual recurring event focusing on current issues about Ukraine. It was named “Ukraine Vision”. From 2024 our event will be held under the name “Ukrainaforum” (Swedish for Ukraine Forum).
In 2023, Nordic Ukraine Forum, together with several partners, organised the event "UkraineVision 2023: Culture Dialogues" at Kulturhuset. Unfortunately however, the name used last year, “Ukraine Vision” has been registered as a European trademark by one of our previous partners and this name is being used in contact also with our previous partners, but now without any involvement of Nordic Ukraine Forum.
We find this a very unfortunate development as this also has created some confusion among several of our cooperation partners, who have believed that we were still among the organisers of “Ukraine Vision”, which we no longer are. The board of Nordic Ukraine Forum has decided not to start any legal battles over the rights to the name. It is better that we spend our time, energy and money on promoting Ukraine's cause than on legal correspondence and lawyers' fees. While we of course welcome more events about Ukraine's culture, history and society, we would have preferred to not have this confusing situation around the name.
Nordic Ukraine Forum's event, which is our successor to our work with Ukraine Vision 2023, will be held under the name “Ukrainaforum”. Through Ukrainaforum, we want to create a meeting place that provides new perspectives. Future events under the name “Ukraine Vision” are no longer associated with Nordic Ukraine Forum.
